Travis Scott alleged safety isn’t the artists ‘job’ while requesting to be dropped from the deadly Astroworld legal action.

Houston rapper Travis Scott is trying to put the deadly 2021 Astroworld Festival behind him once and for all. Since the mass causality event happened he’s returned to the spotlight while settling a few of the lawsuits.

According to Complex, Scott’s legal team is now pushing to have him tossed from pending legal action citing safety wasn’t his job.

“Like any other adrenaline-inducing diversion, music festivals must balance exhilaration with safety and security—but that balance is not the job of performing artists, even those involved in promoting and marketing performances,” one of Scott’s lawyers said in the newly reported filing reviewed by Billboard.

It sounds terrible at first glance, but indirectly, he places that responsibility on the venue or promoter. A Texas grand jury has already decided not to indict Scott over the festival that killed 10 people. Reportedly Drake was deposed for several hours regarding his involvement in the festival.

In May the first trial relating to the tragic Astroworld Festival will begin. Travis still hasn’t performed in Houston since the event but regularly gives back to his hometown through his foundation. Thus far Travis and Live Nation have settled three of the lawsuits for undisclosed amounts.

For now, he will await to hear if he will be granted his dismissal from the lawsuits.
