Usher & Alicia Keep It Coy While Discussing “My Boo” Online: “What We Doin?”

The conversation began on Twitter earlier this week after a user lauded “My Boo” with praise and inquired, “Can we get a sequel to this like already?”

Alicia Keys, who was tagged in the tweet, went on to add eyes emoji and bring further attention to the “My Boo” question. Additionally, the singer tagged fellow collaborator Usher and one of the song’s writers, Jermaine Dupri.

On Thursday (Aug. 31), Usher responded and casually asked, “What we doin?”

Although neither artist has issued any concrete confirmation, it looks like a little somethin’-somethin’ could be brewing ahead of the 20th anniversary of the 2004 track.

Fans Share Their Reactions On Social Media

Beneath The Shade Room‘s Instagram upload on the matter, people swiftly began chiming in and sharing their opinions.

Fans like @material_babe29 and @lovely.veeee were supportive of the idea, with the latter stating, “Usher always ready to work.”

One user going by @kwan.don shared that, as opposed to another single, Usher needs to “drop the album” already.

“Usher just need to drop the album. Tired of these years of singles and no album.”

Another Roomie, @awthentiq, had mixed feelings about the idea, though she proclaimed, “Let’s see what y’all got.”

“Sometimes the original is always best. Sequels are hit or miss lol but let’s see what y’all got I guess.”

Factoring in the time of the year, @dejaarenee_ proclaimed, “Winter is approaching we need this.” After all, we need those bops for cuffing season!

As for @love_brittanyneal, she acknowledged feeling “hesitant” but noted, “My curious mind is still willing to see what comes out of this.” She also shared, “The concept should be a 2023 flashback of their life together. 2004 to now.” We love a fan with a vision!

Would you be down to get a “sequel” to “My Boo,” Roomies?
