Tory Lanez allegedly admitted to “covering” for Kelsey Harris in text messages to Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee.
During a recent episode of Jason Lee’s podcast, he read an alleged text conversation between him and Tory Lanez from before the rapper’s stabbing.
During their conversation, Jason claimed that Lanez said he’s “preparing to physically come home this year, ” though he didn’t give an exact date or explanation. The Canadian rapper allegedly told Lee he always maintained his innocence and believed the trial brought enough evidence to show he wasn’t involved in the shooting.
“It’s honestly a bunch of suppressed evidence that was kept away from me during trial,” Lanez allegedly wrote about the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. “Like, through trial they keep saying it was inconclusive on the gun DNA, but I always knew I never touched the gun, so I asked my lawyer to retest it. And sure enough… I was a 102% excluded completely, from everything just like I said.”
Tory reportedly went on to claim that Meg’s former friend, Kelsey Harris, is the one who fired the gun, but he took the blame to keep her out of trouble.
“I never said nothing and ate the ten years for them to live. Crazy place we live in,” he reportedly wrote.
“I took the rap for Kelsey, never wanted her to go to jail and I never wanted Megan to get hurt or anything, so in me stopping her from getting shot I got the raw deal,” Tory allegedly continued. “Crazy how life works and to think they made me the poster boy for the un-protection of Black women. When in all honesty I protected two Black women.”
The rapper allegedly claimed that because he lost his mother at a young age, he didn’t want the same to happen to Harris’ child.
While sharing the clip of him reading the text messages to Instagram, Jason Lee wrote in his caption: “I wasn’t going to share these text exchanges between @torylanez but given the new information here you are. And I’ve never taken a position on this case but now I’m ready to rule: FREE TORY LANEZ!”
The reported text conversation comes just after Unite The People hosted a press conference on May 14, where they revealed new claims about Tory’s case. UTP’s lead legal consultant, Walter Roberts, said a bodyguard who drove Kelsey Harris has come forward to reveal that he overheard Kelsey’s private calls, during which she allegedly admitted to being Meg’s shooter.
“She had the gun, she fired it [three times],” Roberts said the bodyguard explained. “Mr Peterson (aka Tory Lanez), grabbed her arm and knocked it down and the gun fired two more times.”
Roberts went on to say that these details back up Tory’s claims that he played no role in the shooting.
“This further iterates that Mr. Peterson did not shoot Ms. Megan Pete, did not shoot at Ms. Pete or did not assault Ms. Pete,” he insisted. “It’s just another irregularity in a list of irregularities in this case,” Walter Roberts continued.
