Editor’s Note: This story was originally published in February 2018 and has been updated for comprehensiveness.

Lorde kicked off her North American Dance tour in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Opening the tour was Mitski and hip-hop super duo Run The Jewels. To celebrate the occasion, Lorde has just released a new collaboration with Killer Mike and EL-P.

The song, which was produced by EL-P, is a remix of her Melodramatic cut Supercut. Lorde released the song for free on her newsletter.

In the newsletter, Lorde wrote about the remix: i love it. so much. my little nerd heart is full. Check out the “Supercut” (Remix).

Lorde also released several notable singles this year from her upcoming fourth album Virgin: “What Was That” dropped in April, and the sophomore single “Man of the Year” followed on May 29, both accompanied by compelling videos and explorations of gender identity.

Back in 2018, Lorde’s Supercut (El-P Remix) with Run the Jewels felt like a thrilling collision of worlds. Her atmospheric pop reframed through RTJ’s gritty, left-field production. It was an unlikely pairing that underscored Lorde’s adventurous spirit and the duo’s knack for bending genres to their will. Fast-forward to 2025, and both acts have carved out distinctly different trajectories: Lorde is deep into the shimmering, synth-driven soundscape of her forthcoming album Virgin, using her platform to explore identity and intimacy, while Run the Jewels continue to wield their politically charged, high-energy hip-hop on global stages. The remix now reads like a snapshot of a rare creative crossroads—proof that sometimes, the most unexpected collaborations leave the longest echoes.
