Kendrick Lamar’s two-night stint in Toronto is off to a stellar start. All eyes were on the Compton rapper’s performance in the hometown of his rival, Drake, and the “Not Like Us” emcee did not disappoint. If there were any questions or concerns about Lamar’s show in the city, he easily put them to rest. In fact, Lamar’s favor with the crowd was fully affirmed with a raucous reception to his performance of that Drake-dissing hit.

According to The Canadian Press, “Once he was finished, Lamar stood centre stage in a spotlight, his face in shadow, and for the next two minutes he took in the roar of the crowd. Many of them screamed, ‘One more time.’”

For the majority of his concert at Rogers Centre, Kendrick didn’t address the Drake feud. But the requisite performance of “Not Like Us” got the crowd excited, leading to the night’s crowning moment for Lamar.

Incidentally, Drake himself was also in the news when Kai Cenat announced that he and Drake planned to do a livestream to pick the winners of their “Somebody Loves Me” music video treatment. It was slated for the same night as Lamar’s first Toronto show. However, they decided to reschedule.

In a clip shared by @WordFromKdot on X, a group of fans can be seen at New Ho King, the Chinese restaurant Kendrick references on his Drake diss “Euphoria.” New Ho King has reportedly seen its business surge since being mentioned. They even created a “Kendrick Lamar Special,” based on the track.

The second Toronto show on Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s GNX Tour is tonight (Friday, June 13) at Rogers Centre.
