Details On Turkey Leg Hut’s Shut Down
KHOU11 reports that inspectors found 35 violations at the popular Creole restaurant on Almeda Road in Houston, “including conditions that threaten public health.” Fox26Houston states the restaurant violated health codes concerning improper containers, pest control, flooring, ventilation, and more.
However, Turkey Leg Hut announced on Instagram that they would remain closed for renovations through Sunday (Sept. 22), promising customers a “better dining experience.”
Despite the restaurant’s assurances, the health department hasn’t confirmed any reopening date. Additionally, KHOU11 says health officials need the restaurant to stay closed until it fixes the issues and passes a follow-up inspection for health standards.
“We take public health very seriously and will monitor the situation,” the health department stated.
