Here’s What The 11-Year-Old Confessed To Doing To Noah Bush
According to WJCL, a sentencing hearing was held for the 11-year-old child on Thursday, August 22. At this time, the boy’s identity has not been made public.
During the hearing, the 11-year-old reportedly admitted to leading Bush down to a borrow pit on May 15. Furthermore, the child confessed that he pushed the 8-year-old into the water and “held his head under that water until he drowned.”
The outlet reports that the child was sentenced to “two years of confinement.”
The Bush Family Reacts To The Child’s Sentencing
In response, Bush’s mom, Demetrice, reacted to the 11-year-old’s sentencing, sharing her disappointment.
“My baby was 8 years old with a full life ahead of him,” Demetrice reportedly stated, per WJCL. “And two years is what the state of Georgia calls justice for an entire life that’s lost.”
According to the outlet, the family’s lawyers, however, are “not stopping in their fight for justice.”
“This is not the end,” Mawuli Mel Davis of Davis Bozeman Johnson Law Group explained. “The adults who were involved, who helped mislead this family, must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law as well.”
More Details On Noah Bush’s Case
As The Shade Room previously reported, Bush left his family home in Jessup, Georgia, on May 15 to play with older white children in the neighborhood. The 8-year-old never returned, and the following day, his family called the police.
Authorities reportedly discovered Bush’s body in a borrow pit and the child’s death as an accident. However, Demetrice spoke exclusively with The Shade Room for ‘TSR Investigates‘ and revealed why she wasn’t satisfied with this determination.
In July, the 11-year-old and a 10-year-old accomplice were arrested in connection to the case, per The Shade Room. At that time, authorities reportedly believed the children led Bush down to the borrow pit.
“Noah and the two juveniles involved in this got into some argument, and an argument led to them pushing Noah into the water and possibly holding his head underwater,” Bush family attorney Francys Johnson explained.
Subsequently, the 10-year-old was charged with “concealing the death of another” and sentenced to two years in juvenile detention. Meanwhile, the 11-year-old was charged with “involuntary manslaughter.”
However, now that the 11-year-old has received his sentence, the case is still far from over. Furthermore, the 11-year-old’s mother, Natalie Hardison, was also taken into custody in July and charged with “giving false statements” during the investigation.
According to PEOPLE, Hardison remains in custody as she awaits her own court date.
