For this week’s edition of How to Be Outside, Inside, we linked with Fatboi Sharif, who’s just released his new album, Endocrine. Tap in below to learn about how he takes advantage of a special Brooklyn happy hour before heading off into a night of low-key fun.

Okayplayer: Where do you go in NYC when you want to be outside without being “outside”?

Fatboi Sharif: For me to get right for the day, I’m going down on Broadway to Mi Sabor Cafe to get some Spanish food. I chill in there, then go right across the street to SKYTOWN right after. They got the endless happy hour from 3-7. You can go in there and get right.

Where do you go when you want to be around people but not with people?

I love Union Pool. It’s a dope spot because you can always go there and just see a dope show. I love the NYC bars from all five boroughs that you can kind of separate and get in your own zone at any chosen time of the night. Union Pool has the main bar, they got the little middle section where it’s just stuff spread out. Then they have the back [section] with the taco [shop].

It’s kind of like, “All right, I want to turn up, let me go in the main room. All right, I’m tired of y’all. Let me go back to the middle room, get a drink and chill out.”

What would your perfect NYC day look like?

When I do my radio show Strangers Live, we’ll come down from Jersey. The show is usually 12 to 2. I usually go to the studio in Park Slope [Brooklyn]. I might have to record a feature or a verse. After that, we’re going to SKYTOWN or Mi Sabor to grab some food and drinks and ending the night off at another event with the homies and vibe out for the night. And that could also be at Trans-Pecos or Botanical Bar in Manhattan. That’s another super dope spot. It’s a smaller spot, but the vibes are kind of cool. It’s on the side street. One of my peoples DJ there. That would be a good day, top to bottom.
