GloRilla is speaking out after she was arrested on felony drug charges in Georgia. She blasted the authorities after she was taken into custody and charged following a burglary in her home in Alpharetta, a suburb of Atlanta. The “Yeah Glo!” rapper (born Gloria Woods) shared her feelings on the incident on X (formerly Twitter), criticizing law enforcement for not doing more to address that she was the victim of a home invasion.
“My house got home-invaded Saturday while I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA All-Star game,” Glo tweeted. “Instead of focusing on finding the suspects, they focus on some cannabis.”
TMZ reports that Glo has been printing her mugshot on T-shirts, which are currently selling for $40 on her official store. GloRilla also gave out similar merchandise at her “GloRilla’s Glo Bash” concert on Friday.
“Long story short my house gets home invaded and I’m the only one that gets arrested,” she tweeted. “So that’s tea.”
WSB-TV in Atlanta reported that deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home owned by Woods at 1:30am on the morning of July 19. The investigators say three suspects went into the home when Glo wasn’t there and began stealing when someone in the home fired at them. The burglars ran off and investigators don’t believe the thieves were injured.
But the deputies then noticed a smell of marijuana and began searching the premises. They found a “significant amount of marijuana” in the master bedroom closet.
Woods has been charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. She turned herself in to the Forsyth County Jail on Tuesday and was released on a $22,260 bond.
