John Richmond, a Morehouse graduate, has come under fire from Spelman Alumni, accusing him of scamming them out of thousands. From fraudulent designer deals to shady PayPal and bank account plots, Richmond is accused of running a scheme that has now even caught the attention of Atlanta Police.
But who is John Richmond, and what really is going down?
The Shade Room’s Justin Carter is looking into it all on ‘TSR Investigates.’
More Details On The Fraud Allegations Against Morehouse Graduate. John Richmond
According to Carter, Jada Rice took to social media to ask her followers where she could find a YSL handbag she had her eye on. In turn, John Richmond reportedly told her he had a connect that could snag the bag at a discounted price. Days later, Rice’s bank account was reportedly “wiped clean.”
“I couldn’t find this bag, so I was like, ‘Oh, okay, I guess I’ll give this a try,’” Rice explained to Carter.
From there, she reached out to Richmond’s connect — a woman named “Maddie.” Maddie reportedly informed Rice that if she dropped $1,600, the handbag, in brand new condition, would be all hers. Ultimately, Rice sent over the payment via Zelle account. However, within days, Maddie reportedly went ghost.
To make matters worse, Rice then started receiving notifications from her bank, informing her of multiple fraudulent charges on her account, totaling over $5,000.
What Happens Next?
According to Rice, after never receiving the product, Maddie eventually agreed to refund the $1,600.
“I never got my money back — never got it back,” Rice told Carter.
