J.I.D. says he and J. Cole have recorded a full album’s worth of material. During an appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast, the Dreamville rapper revealed that there’s a 15 track project in the vault.
“Me and Cole got a body…a fifteen-track shmoker,” J.I.D. revealed. “Me and him, back and forth. We done the s**t in New York. I ain’t never told nobody this—sorry, Cole. And also…The Fall Off is gonna be really good. Y’all will see.”
J.I.D. just released his new album God Does Like Ugly with features from ; as well as production from the likes of Childish Major, Lex Luger, Jay Versace, Boi-1da, Thundercat and longtime collaborator Christo. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the project includes music that was recorded as far back as 2018.
“[God Does Like Ugly] is like a go ball,” he stated to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “In football, the go ball is when the quarterback drops wider on the outside and throws it as deep as he can and sees what happens. Hail Mary type s**t. But it’s not like all is lost if you drop it. It’s just, ‘I’m about to go and make a play.’ This is me making a play.”
